Suffragist Profile: Fannie Lou Hamer

After the 19th Amendment granted women the right to vote, Fannie Lou Hamer continued to fight racist Jim Crow laws that obstructed African American voting rights, galvanizing President Lyndon Johnson to sign the Voting Rights Act in 1965.
